Looking for Richmond TCM that takes time? Evening arrives quietly in Richmond, and from the upper floor of Aberdeen Plaza you can watch the headlights slowly come on along Sexsmith. Step through our door and you will find a wall of Chinese calligraphy and a still pool of water — a contemporary reading room where things are allowed to slow down. Finding a Richmond TCM practitioner who actually has time to listen to your whole story isn’t always easy. We hope Sky TCM Acupuncture Clinic becomes the place you trust with that story.
About Sky TCM — Our Richmond Clinic
Sky TCM Acupuncture Clinic sits upstairs in Aberdeen Plaza, in the heart of Richmond’s Lansdowne area, and is one of the few Richmond TCM practices that still treat first visits as something worth taking time over. We aren’t a “quick visit, quick exit” practice. Instead, we treat the four classical pillars — looking, listening, asking, palpating (望闻问切) — as something that takes real time. On your first visit, Dr. Judy Chu will spend a generous unhurried session with you, hearing the full arc of how your body has been, before she decides whether to reach for the needles, prescribe an herbal formula, or simply begin with a food-as-medicine plan [first-visit duration · pending Dr. Judy’s confirmation]. We see people in Mandarin, Cantonese and English, so describing how you feel never has to happen in translation.
What we offer at our Richmond TCM clinic
Our work is organized around six directions, all assessed and delivered by Dr. Judy herself:
- Acupuncture (针灸) — pain, sleep, digestion, women’s cycles, cosmetic facial needling, often paired with tuina and food therapy
- Tuina (推拿) — neck, shoulder and lower-back release, layered with acupuncture
- Meridian and soft-tissue therapy — gentle pelvic and post-partum release work, paired with acupuncture and tuina [pending Dr. Judy’s confirmation]
- Herbal medicine and food therapy — formulas chosen by constitution
- Women’s and children’s care — fertility prep, postpartum recovery, pediatric tuina [pending Dr. Judy’s confirmation]
- Energy chamber — a gentle adjunct for deeper relaxation between sessions
We don’t claim to “treat everything.” We focus on doing each thing well — helping the body settle, one layer at a time.

Dr. Judy Chu — Twenty years of clinical practice
Dr. Judy Chu (R.Ac) trained at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (广州中医药大学). Twenty years of practice have taken her through clinics in mainland China, Taiwan and Canada [credentials · pending Dr. Judy’s confirmation]. She is a CTCMA-registered acupuncturist in British Columbia, which means every session she gives sits under provincial regulation — there are practice standards, continuing-education requirements and a public register to uphold. R.Ac isn’t a credential to display — it’s a legally regulated scope of practice in BC, renewed annually, and for us a quiet promise about how seriously we take your safety.

Frequently asked
What services does Sky TCM offer?
Acupuncture, tuina, meridian and soft-tissue therapy, herbal medicine, women’s and children’s care, and the energy chamber — all assessed and delivered by Dr. Judy.
Do I need an appointment for my first visit?
Yes. We work by appointment so that first visits can run unhurried. Please call 778-681-8886 to book.
Does MSP cover this?
MSP doesn’t cover acupuncture, but most extended health plans do reimburse sessions with a registered acupuncturist (R.Ac). It’s worth checking your annual limit with your insurer before you come in.
How are you different from other Richmond TCM clinics?
One practitioner sees you through from start to finish, your first visit isn’t rushed, and the space is quiet. We schedule no more than two people in the same window, so nobody feels interrupted. We’re a good fit for people who want a slower, more attentive kind of care.
It’s my first time with TCM. What should I bring?
Wear loose clothing so wrists and ankles are easy to reach. Eat normally beforehand — not on an empty stomach, not overly full. If you have recent lab work or imaging from your family doctor, please bring it.
